This is a concept sketch of the dog alien from (Alien3) i shall be sculpting in the near future. i plan to complete this and move on to the more humanoid xeno's in due course along with a space jockey for those of you fan people. I will proberly try and use polymer clay for the actual peice but due to the nature of its size i may have to use natrual clay, Also as the dome on the head is translucent i will proberly need to take a mold of the head and paint clear cast resin as a shell for a transparent look. We shall see.

03/02/2012 UPDATE:

just ordered 12kg of terracota clay, was going to use polymer clay but as this will be rather large it could get costly and risky as polymer can be britle. whilst im waiting i shall draft some ideas for the base plinth. The one in the image is just a quick mockup to suppliment the pose of the creature. more to come ....

11/02/2012 UPDATE:

just received the wire, started to assemble the armature for the framework. Tricky stuff but getting there!, the hind legs are to be slightly modified to match the anatomy of a dog.

16/03/2012 UPDATE:

Working on the base, things are looking good however i am proberly going to adjust the pose slightly to make for a more dynamic aproach. The base is going to be cased into resin so i can use more clay for the sculpt. This work will be as mixed media as i can get. ..more to come!
